how to start DIY'ing...

do you sit there scratching your head on where to begin?  because I know I have... and that's frustrating...

I started the same way my mom did - I started pricing things out and was blown away at some of the price tags contractors would have.  and I thought to myself - how hard could this be?

but first I kept it simple - I found a small project and I tried to tackle it - and it felt good to see it come to fruition.  and so I tried something harder, but had to research it a bit and realized, hey!  there's a whole community that's doing this!  and so I kept going - I kept believing in myself.  I kept asking myself questions and over time, I started realizing that all of this put together was making my house a home - things were beginning to be simply lovely!

want to learn more about the 5 steps to start DIY'ing for yourself?  what are you waiting for?!

tools for beginner DIY'ers

there are so many different tools to choose from.  but there are a few things to keep in mine when starting out - the biggest being how much do you want to do?

things get pricy super quick and unfortunately we are not made of money - but we want to do things well and we want to do things right.  here are the top tools i recommend to get you off on the right foot!

and remember - these are just suggestions.  i ranked them in the order of importance (in my opinion) and there is one i even left off that most DIY'ers swear by... but this is how i started so i'm sharing the tools that are my go-to's in my arsenal!

there's a template for that...
now that you're in the right mindset and are ready to start DIY'ing, where to truly begin?  that's in project planning!

no matter the size of the project, planning is key!  what's your budget? what are you going to do first?  what's your plan of action?

having a template can help outline your strategy from the start and allow for planning to go more seamlessly! there will always be things that come up, but with this PROJECT PLANNER TEMPLATE, you'll be able to think as much as you can through from start to finish before even starting!

i'll even print off multiples of these just to have one for each phase of the project if it's a big one!  so print off one, two or even three and sit down and get started - and remember, keep it simple and make it lovely!
